The name comes from The Doors, from Jim Morrison, from Aldous Huxley’s “The Doors of Perception.” One question asked everywhere: What is your name and occupation? That simple question opens everything—who people are, what they do, why they do it, how they live.
Positive, Apolitical and Independent
This is the Name and Occupation manifesto. Three principles that guide every story, every documentary, every podcast episode. Not marketing language. Operating principles.
Positive doesn’t mean ignoring problems. It means documenting resilience. Real people doing real work. Beauty exists. Humanity persists. That’s worth showing.
Apolitical means no agenda. No sides. No spin. People speak for themselves. The work speaks for itself. Truth needs no editorial position.
Independent means no network funding. No sponsor control. No algorithm appeasement. The vision stays pure because nothing else pays for it. The manifesto holds because there’s no boss to compromise it.
